The Washington Capitals and Courage Caps

Every year, the Washington Capitals stage a Courage Caps Campaign - selling caps and T-shirts to raise money for military charities. I was proud to connect the Capitals with TAPS (Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors) back in 2013. Here are some of my photos of Caps players hosting families who benefit from TAPS for a skating party to launch the 2013 campaign - which raised more than $105,000 for the charity. You'll see  Caps players John Carlson, Matt Hendricks, Joey Crabb, the Red Rockers and some very happy kids.

Congrats to Alexis & Claire!

Alexis and Claire are represented by the HBF Talent Agency - and we had the good fortune to shoot the images for their portfolios and comp cards. Both are getting called to auditions - and we wish them great success! And there's more in our Fashion & Glamour Gallery...

Shape Up!

My partner Maria and I were lucky enough to photograph these local gym rats at our studios recently. They are proof positive that if you  make working out part of your routine, the benefits are awesome.

Ethel Saves the Day!

When the model who was supposed to be featured in our fashion shoot called in sick at the last minute, Ethel - a promising student at the Washington School of Photography, where we have our studio - graciously agreed to take her place. We're sure Ethel will be great behind the camera - but we're mightily impressed with how talented she is in front of the camera!

Diamond Alley at Downtown Crown

It was our good luck to have the opportunity to shoot Diamond Alley, probably the best local band in the Washington metro area, at a charity event at Downtown Crown in Gaithersburg. The event was a Taste of Downtown Crown - home to more good restaurants than you can count - and the funds raised are going to the Manna Project. The food was great - the entertainment was even better.

We had the good fortune to meet - and photograph - Thai model Chintana Vann at HBF Boutique's recent back-to-school fashion show in Gaithersburg's Downtown Crown. One look at her and you know why she's a successful model. Talk to her for just a few minutes and you discover what a genuinely nice, positive woman she is. You can see our images of Chintana here, or in the slideshow below.

Cleaning Up the C&O Canal National Park

The National Parks Conservation Association chose Perone Photography to shoot stills and video clips at its volunteer cleanup day at the C&O Canal National Park in Washington, DC in early June -- and what a great day it was! More than a hundred volunteers picked up trash, kayaked down the canal and retrieved bottles and hubcaps and old tires and canoed to (relatively) distant shores to clean up debris that careless boaters had tossed overboard and that had washed up on the river banks. The National Parks Conservation Association does great work - and is on a "Find Your Voice" campaign to clean up every national park in the country. You can see a collection of the images heralding this valuable volunteer work here.
